BAND BIOGRAPHY

Four guys got together after many years of searching for the perfect combination of musicians to meet their musical tastes, and Aud Faucé was born. The genre-mixing, energy-driven, catchy harmony-filled songs poured forth like molten lava from a volcano of musical glory! Their debut 74 minute long album "Trying Muto" was released in 2004 before Kyle left in the fall for California to further his education in music. But before his departure from the Evergreen State, recording for their sophmore album had already begun. Through constant communication between bandmates and with the help of the world wide web, Aud Faucé has remained lively and active despite the many miles between 1/4 of the members and the rest. The latest works of this group of talented young musicians is complete in the form of their new self-titled album. Check out a tasty helping of this new album by clicking on the free songs.

ENTERTAINER: Please tell us how the band got started.

PETER: “Ben and I, being brothers, have been playing together most of our lives—since we were zygotes [laughs]. In 2002 Ben and I met Alan at our collective academic enslavement, Hanford High School. The three of us started jamming together after school every other week. We continued playing occasionally until one fateful spring day when I met Kyle in our Driver’s Education class. Upon hitting it off immediately based upon our common musical interests, I decided to invite Kyle to come jam with the rest of us. After playing about thirty minutes the three of us left Kyle in the corner of the room and hand a secret band meeting. At that point we decided that Kyle should be our best friend and be in the band for all time [winks slyly].

KYLE: “Yeah, the meeting wasn’t very secret since they were about five feet away from me and I could actually hear everything they were saying. But in the end, regardless of their less than professional manner, it was at this moment that Aud Faucé was born.”

ENTERTAINER: What is the style of music you play?

PETER: “It’s kind of hard to categorize because we try to combine as many styles as possible into our music. If we had to be narrowed down into categories, I guess they would be alternative/progressive/experimental.”

BEN: “I know that most bands have a hard time categorizing their music and it sounds cliche that we list so many different styles but our music really does span that many genres. For example, on our latest album we have songs ranging from rock, techno, electronic, folk, jazz, acoustic and funk. Because some of the band members play several instruments and have a wide range of musical influence, it gives us a lot of instrumentation options. Some of our most recent songs include everything from upright bass, violin, harmonica, fiddle, piano, banjo, synthesizers, etc... Oh yeah, also we did a percussion solo on one of the new songs that includes all sorts of random things we found lying around the studio that made noise (barbell, five gallon bucket, Tostitos can, etc).”

KYLE: “We can really try to describe it all day but in the end you just have to hear it for yourself.”

ENTERTAINER: What has been the greatest memory of Aud Faucé?

BEN: “I’d have to say that it was when we got back the final version of the first song we ever recorded.”

PETER: “Yes, I’d have to agree with Ben. Those first recordings were really cool because we finally were able to hear what we actually sounded like. However, I’d have to say my greatest memory was hearing one of our songs on the radio for the first time.”

KYLE: “For me it was when Gavin Lurssen, from The Mastering Lab agreed to do the mastering for our album. It was really great to have someone who has worked with Grammy winning artists decide to work with us.”

ENTERTAINER: What does the future hold for Aud Faucé?

PETER: “Well, first off, we all want to continue playing together as a band. However, we’re also getting our academic requirements out of the way. Kyle’s currently at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA, Ben is pursuing degrees in music and computer science at CBC while I’m planning on attending music college in Australia.”

ENTERTAINER:What about Alan?

PETER: “We’re not sure what his plans are since he’s unable to be with us today but he’ll always be a part of the band.”

BEN: “After getting our educations out of the way, our plan is to start pursuing our musical careers together as a band. We already have some offers and accommodations for future recording projects and a record deal. Obviously, our educations are important, but we’re anxious to get back to doing what we love—making music.”

KYLE: “We realize the importance of furthering ourselves through education. At the same time, because most of our focus is on music education, this gives us an advantage with our music. It’s been a great experience so far and I feel my own schooling has expanded my song writing abilities already. Ultimately though, I have to agree with Ben and Peter—we just love making music!”
