		Gotta Dance Innovations Reprinted from July 2006 Issue -by PAT HORNE Come with me back to August 1984, the year Bob and I began our dance journeys. Bob had told me he wanted to take me to Victoria, Canada on the Princess Marguerite Cruise Ship for our 38th wedding Anniversary. Of course I was thrilled and immediately said, “Yes!” That was the very beginning of our wonderful trips and excursions. At the same time Bob and I were offering VIP Advanced Classes at the Pasco Eagles Lodge Wednesday nights. I casually told the class of our plans and asked how many would like to join us on our anniversary trip. To our surprise, everyone was interested in joining us. We took 50 people to Seattle, boarded the Princess Marguerite and were off to Victoria, Canada for a two night stay. After our first two excursions to Canada Bob and I became more creative and set our sights on the Oregon coast for something new and different. That was August 1986. Over the next 15 years we held these extravaganzas at Lincoln City, Oregon, Newport Oregon and Portland, Oregon. The event morphed into five ballrooms going at one time, with ten professional instructors! Bob and I decided to bring this event back home to the Tri-Cities which we did in August 2002. This years Gala will be our fifth year back home. Gotta Dance Classes and Events Get ready for the big show and dinner dance, on August 18th and 19th at the AmeriSuites Hotel, Pasco. Incidentally, we will have a dance shoe vendor (Shirley Howard), so now is the time to purchase those dancin’ shoes” Our Saturday Night Fever Dances at the Pasco Red Lion are a very popular event. Our newest item is the video showcase. A giant size screen on which you can see the latest from the show, So You Think You Can Dance. Benji and Heidi are contestants and a joy to watch. Some of you have been able to see them live at one of our Holiday 2 Dance programs. In fact we had Buddy’s whole family and that’s a show in itself! We hope you make a special effort to see Benji and Heidi on the Fox channel on Wednesday and/or Thursday nights at 8pm. July News Events Four week classes will be held again every Monday at The Pasco Eagles and Thursday at the Richland Community Center at 7:30pm. Register early by calling Pat at 547-9647. Rumble On The River Water Follies Dinner Dance will be held on Friday, July 28th at the Pasco Eagles, 2829 W. Sylvester at 7pm. Come see the Elite Danz Team Performance.
